Terms and Conditions, warranty



Before ordering, you can ask to question about the choice of the flute.
To order, you can choose to :

  • - fill in the Baroque or the Andean order form (printable pdf format), and send it back to me by normal mail,
  • - send me an e-mail with the characteristics of the chosen instrument (please resume order form's items).

ORDER :
After getting your order, I will send you an estimate that will give all the details of the order, the delivery time, the shipment and insurance costs, the amount of deposit (equal to 20% of the price of the instrument(s), 30% for a special order *), my bank account if you wish to pay by bank transfer, and a copy of these terms of delivery.
Your order will be registered with the reception of the formal acceptance of this estimate by post (mail or e-mail) and with the reception of the deposit (asked for any order above 300 € and for a special order*), within ten days. Any order implies acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
PRICES :
Prices shown on my price list are net for France (TVA non applicable, article 293B du CGI). For other countries (in or outside the European Community), these prices do not include Value Added Taxes (VAT) you must pay to your customs authorities.
PAYMENT :
Each order must be paid in full before sending. Payment can be made by cheque (only for french residents), by postal order or bank transfer. Postal and bank charges are supported by the customer. The currency to use is Euro only.
SHIPMENT :
The sending is made by insured mail for the full value, by post or private company (Chronopost) depending on the destination. The shipment and insurance costs are payable by the customer, and indicated on the invoice attached to the package.
When you receive your package, carefully examine it before accepting with your signature. If it is damaged (retaped, torn, crushed, ...) it is imperative to not accept, not open, and ask for a finding of spoliation or degradation, must be done in the presence of a person of the post office or private operator. Only after this document completed, you can open the package, always in the presence of a person of the post office or private operator. This is the only procedure that allows for reimbursement of damage. If you accept the package before completing the document, no appeal is possible.
EXPORT :
The possible taxes, and customs duties for countries outside the European Community, will be paid by the customer upon receipt of the package, through the operator (local Post or private company).
TERMS OF RECOVERY :
In case of remote order, except for a special order*, you have ten days from delivery to return the instrument(s) for exchange or refund.
In case of exchange, and according to my stock available, additional time may be required.
In case of refund, you must return the flute in its original state, without alteration. You must return the flute in a package that will adequately protect against shock and moisture, ensuring the package for its total value, at : Pierre Etchegoyen rue Emile Bouy 19190 Aubazine, France. To first read the "Instructions for getting your flute serviced", which you must respect, on my warranty card.
Then I will refund the cost of the instrument, only the deposit as any shipping and bank charges will not be refunded. The deposit can be credited toward the purchase of another one of my flutes within one year of the cancellation date.
* special orders : all orders, that I have agreed, of instruments that are not in my catalogue and/or which are made according to specifications. In case of special order, my estimate it will specify.

Warranty :

General warranty : one year for any hidden defect appeared after receipt , provided that you take good care of your flute, and if no alterations, accidents or otherwise has been made.
This warranty cover :
  • - a partial re-harmonisation or a re-tuning if you need it,
  • - for the baroque flutes : a complete and free (except shipment costs) check-up in my workshop between six and twelve months. On condition that you have taken care of your flute with a normal maintenance, and you have returned it for the complete check-up, the warranty will be extended to a period of one year. This warranty includes the repair or replace of any part of your flute that cracks, except cracks on the sockets, adjustment of the socket and tenon together are your responsibility, see the baroque maintenance instructions.

The warranty does not cover, for wood quenas with removable heads, cracks on the sockets, adjustment of the socket and tenon together are your responsibility, see the Andean maintenance instructions (in french).
For each instrument I give :
  • - the maintenance instructions and good advice to start the instrument, the warranty sheet, and a note about the pitch and tune of the baroque flutes,
  • - for baroque flutes and wooden quenas , a protective soft case,
  • - for baroque flutes : a wooden rod used to go out and put the cap on the head joint, and a tin of grease for tenons. For the Quantz flute, a wooden wedge for good position of the tuning slide on the head joint.

Instructions for getting your flute serviced :


Before sending back your flute, please contact me by email or mail, and wait for my answer to make sure that I can receive your shipment.
Properly protect the instrument against shock and humidity in his bag, and wrapped in a plastic waterproof and is protected by a plastic bubble, or crumpled newspaper.
Insure it for its full replacement value, and use a shipment with delivery against signature.
If you live outside of France :
You must attach, after completing, this  invoice declaration (printable pdf), in an envelope to the outside of the box, in three copies. The most important part is the mentions below :
  • - flûte en bois usagée, fabriquée en France (used wooden flute, made in France),
  • - retour au fabricant pour réparation ou entretien (returned to maker for control or repair),
  • - sans valeur commerciale (no commercial value) (even though its value was declared for ten Euros in the Proforma invoice declaration).

NOTE : if any package arrives with customs charges due, we may refuse to accept it.
